The Perfect Laser Cut Wedding Invitation
Why a Laser Cut Wedding Invitation?
A laser cut wedding invitation is perfect for a wedding, and it’s not hard to see why. With many laser cut designs to choose from they offer romance and luxury and can easily be personalised to suit your wedding theme.
DIY laser cut wedding invitations can be decorated simply with ribbon wraps or belly bands. More lavishly designs use satin or silk ribbons and embellishments, perfect for a luxury wedding. We have several beautiful colours to choose, including invitation cards made from matt or pearlescent card stock and our sumptuous Royale Ivory laser cut.
There are three styles of laser cut that you can choose from a wallet style, a gatefold style and a laser-cut pocketfold. The style of laser-cut you want will simply depend on your personal preference and how much information you wish to include with your wedding invitation.
Select a font style to match your style but beware of anything to intricate as the final invitation risks looking too busy.
Our lasercuts are available in a selection of pearlescent and matt card stock. Our pearlescent laser cuts form our ‘Royale’ collection, and you can choose Royale White, Royale Ivory, Royale Grey and Royale Champagne. For matt laser cuts or our ‘Chalk’ collection, we have Chalk Grey, Chalk Calico and Chalk Pink. All perfect colours for making wedding invitations.
Some laser cuts or gatefold invitations are flat-packed. To protect beautiful laser-cut or delicate panels employ the following technique for crisp creases and a flawless finish.
- Place the invitation on a flat surface, outside-facing down, inside facing up (this means the rounded part of the crease is ‘upwards.’
- Place a ruler (ideally metal) on top of one of the creases; the ruler will be partly covering one of the laser cut panels.
- Hold the ruler down with one hand while folding the invite over the ruler using a finger to press into the crease.
Slide-out the ruler and press down firmly along the crease, a bone folder is ideal for this but fingers will do! - Repeat with the other panel
- Your beautiful invitation will now be nicely folded and ready for an insert, and you’ve not had to touch the delicate panels once!
- This method is a straightforward way to fold a delicate gatefold invitation, particularly those with laser cut panels.
