How many wax seals does one wax stick make?

Depending on the eventual size of your invitation seals, you should be able to make a minimum of 5 seals using a single wax stick with your wax seal stamp.

There are two main sizes of wax sticks available for creating seals: 7mm and 11mm. The size refers to the diameter and therefore the amount of wax that is contained within each stick, meaning that a larger stick will create more seals than a smaller one.

A 7mm stick will create approximately 5-7 seals, while an 11mm stick will create around 10-12 seals. This may vary slightly depending on the amount of wax used for each seal design and the size of your stamp.

Tips for creating perfect wax seals

  • Start with a clean and dry surface: Make sure your envelope or paper is free from dust or moisture before applying the wax. This will ensure a clean and smooth seal.
  • Melt the wax evenly: Use a low heat setting on your glue gun to melt the wax evenly, avoiding any bubbles or uneven patches in the wax.
  • Apply even pressure: When pressing down with your stamp, make sure to apply even pressure for a consistent and crisp impression.
  • Use a twisting motion: To remove the stamp from the wax, gently twist it to prevent the wax seal from smudging or distorting.
  • Personalise the colours: Experiment with different coloured wax sticks to add a unique and personalised touch to your seals.
  • Practice makes perfect: Don't be afraid to practice on scrap paper before creating your final seals to get comfortable with the process and perfect your technique.

Self Adhesive Wax Seals

You can premake your wax seals by making them on parchment paper or a silicone mat and then adding a double sided sticker. Then simply peel off the backing and stick them onto your envelope or paper when required. These are perfect for larger quantities or if you want a uniform look to your seals.

Type Of Wax Stamps

Wax stamps come in a variety of designs, from traditional monograms and crests to more modern symbols and patterns. The type of design you choose will depend on the overall aesthetic you are going for, as well as personal preference. You can also have custom wax stamps made with your own design or logo for a truly unique seal.
