Pantone Colour of The Year 2022
Very Peri - Pantone Colour of the Year 2022
The Pantone Institute has announced a brand new colour for Pantone Colour of the Year 2022: Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri. The “courageous” periwinkle shade Very Peri encourages personal inventiveness and creativity. This is the first time that a brand new shade has been created.
Pantone states that Very Peri is the “happiest and warmest of all the blue hues” because it “blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red”.
“As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue colour family,” says Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman.
Pantone indicates that the shade makes for a “novel statement” when used for eyes, nails and “especially” hair.
It’s a lovely soft, warm and welcoming shade perfect for weddings. Lilacs have always been a popular wedding choice but Very Peri brings a new contemporary dimension, especially valuable for wedding stationery. Ultimate Gray and Illuminating - Pantone Colour of the Year 2021
The Pantone Institute has announced two complementary colours for its Pantone Colour of the Year 2021: Ultimate Gray PANTONE 17-5104 and Illuminating PANTONE 13-0647. The combination of grey and yellow is enduring and uplifting recognising the need or hope and brightness and feelings of composure, steadiness and resilience.
The colour pairing embodies our need to be visible, have a voice and be recognised and respects wisdom, experience and intelligence while inspiring us to progress forward.
“The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude,” says Leatrice (Lee) Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute. “Practical and rock-solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted: this is essential to the human spirit.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute.
This combination of shades makes a beautiful, contemporary wedding stationery palette as we anticipate overcoming the pandemic and welcome brighter days in 2021.
Classic Blue - Pantone Colour of the Year 2020
The Pantone Color Institute have been naming a colour of the year for over 20 years. The PANTONE® colour of the year for 2020 is Classic Blue (Pantone 19-4052 classic blue) a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk.

Trend forecasts are important in all aspects of our lives from graphic design, fashion to home interiors and everything in between. Classic blue can be regal, calming reassuring and confident but for the world of weddings it’s always been a favourite.
Here are some suggestions of how you can incorporate the colour blue in your wedding theme:
Living Coral - Pantone Colour of the Year 2019
We think the PANTONE® colour of the year for 2019 Living Coral, is a life-affirming, cosy and gorgeous colour bursting with optimism for the year ahead! With technology and social media forming a greater part of our daily life Pantone 16-1546 ‘Living Coral’ is described as “sociable and spirited” and “embodies our desire for playful expression” and we just love it!
With weddings in mind, coral is a beautiful colour to choose for your wedding invitations and bridesmaid dresses. Joyous, strong and feminine, ‘Living Coral’ is complemented by deep greens and blue-greens so is also a florists dream!
When planning your Spring/Summer coral themed wedding ‘Living Coral’ is a stunning choice. For Autumn/Winter weddings it’s all about ‘atmosphere’ so think soft diaphanous coral tones with eucalyptus greens and pops of ‘Living Coral’ to give focus and warmth.

Ulta Violet - Pantone Colour of the Year 2018
The PANTONE® colour of the year is Ultra Violet, a luxurious blue-based purple; a regal colour with drama and inner depth. Associated with the cosmos it’s complex and appealing to those who are energized by other-worldly beauty or calm, understated chic.
Ultra Violet has long been associated with relaxing environments, spiritual and mystical settings so will be loved by those who practice mindfulness and have a love of nature and all its elements. With gothic overtones Ultra Violet is a deep and rich choice for those who are confident and dare to be different.
A stunning wedding colour Ultra Violet works brilliantly all year round with white, ivory or black. For bold contrast it coordinates beautifully with oranges, tangerines and acid greens making it a stunning choice for a summer wedding with all the zingy foliage and gorgeous flowers available. For winter weddings choose copper, platinum and deep jewel accent colours, dried flower crowns and lots of twigs and evergreens in your wedding venue styling. ‘Cadbury Purple’, a warmer tone, has always been a fabulous choice for weddings and we know it works brilliantly but ultra violet is the first colour we believe actually embodies a state of mind and way of life.
